My husband and I attended a wedding this past weekend in Palm Springs at the beautiful Korakia Pensione resort. Despite the rainy weather, we had a fantastic time. The grounds are exotic and romantic, complete with lanterns, fire pits, and moraccan daybeds. It truly felt like we were in someone's gorgeous, sprawling backyard. The bride and groom, along with their entire wedding party jumped in the heated pool at the end of the night, gowns and all. Snow Capped Mountains

I haven't written in months due to my long hours at my new job. 14 hour days every day! But I did have a chance to go to Palm Springs on Christmas weekend with friends and family. The air is crisp, the sun is shining, and alas-majestic snow capped mountains are here! Look at this picture-it is amazing! The best was swimming in our 85 degree pool while gazing at this gorgeous view....

Come here for a drink

Went to check out the new ACE Hotel & Swim Club. Walking in, we immediately felt a warm, peaceful 1960's retro vibe. Pool area first. It was dusk. The setting sun, the hot Palm Springs wind, and the cool misters made the pool area feel almost dreamy, hippie-like. People were lounging in the hammocks, extremely laid back, in a daze of relaxation.

We came for cocktails though so we headed back towards the lobby and into the bar area. The Amigo Bar is very cool-black walls, dim lighting, cold refreshing air, comfy bar stools. We ordered Charro Negros and they were delicious, fresh, and perfect. We are coming back next weekend with more friends!

Hot new places

The hottest thing to happen to Palm Springs lately is the new, super chic Palm Springs Riviera that opened up last fall. Very cool place for a delicious cocktail or dinner. Amazing spa. Gorgeous outdoor area. Check it out at www.psriviera.com. You can walk there if you are renting out my vacation home!

I am amazed by how many more cool places are coming to Palm Springs despite the tough economy. The brand new ACE Hotel just opened-I am going to check it out this weekend. www.acehotel.com/palmsprings. What's next? Millions of dollars are being pumped in to the downtown area to restore old hotels and build new ones, like the Mondrian. Wow, Mondrian. If any of you have been to the one in Hollywood, you know it houses the elegant and happening Sky Bar and the deliciousness that is Asia de Cuba restaurant. Simply luxurious! Can't wait.
